2. Digital mailbox
In your e-Boks digital mailbox you can access mail from both public authorities and private enterprises.
2.1. Legal effect
The Messages you receive via e-Boks will not be sent as regular post. Messages received in e-Boks have the same legal effect as if received by post, e.g. with re-gard to payment, acceptance and complaints deadlines. Messages are regarded as received by you when they are available to you in your e-Boks.
2.2. Responsibility
It is your responsibility to:
- regularly check for new Messages in your digital mailbox at e-Boks,
- ensure that e-Boks always has your correct email address and/or mobile num-ber if you wish to receive notifications of new Messages,
- immediately change your password and inform e-Boks if you become aware of or suspect irregularities or misuse of your digital mailbox at e-Boks,
- grant and administer access for other persons to your e-Boks account, includ-ing deleting such access in accordance with your preferences, and
- read the contents of the original document if you use e-Boks’ Reading Tools.
You are also responsible for ensuring that the content you archive in e-Boks al-ways is in compliance with Danish law.
2.3. Deletion
If you delete any Messages in e-Boks, they cannot be restored or recreated. You can delete Messages and documents in your digital mailbox at e-Boks at any time. e-Boks cannot access the content of your Messages. e-Boks reserves the right to make Messages in your digital mailbox at e-Boks inaccessible when e-Boks is obliged to do so by law, or when other people's personal data have been com-promised by error.
2.4. Registration and deregistration
When creating your user account, you accept being registered with all senders using e-Boks’ services to send digital mail.
2.4.1. Registering and deregistering for messages from senders
By default, you are registered with all senders using the e-Boks platform. You can deregister from receiving Messages from senders in e-Boks at any time, unless you have entered into agreement with senders that requires you to have a digital mail-box at e-Boks or with senders are otherwise entitled by law to send mail to you. Any changes made to your registrations will affect mail received by e-Boks after the date the change comes into effect. In the event of a sender transferring its activities and/or assets, your registrations may be automatically changed in ac-cordance with that transfer.
2.4.2. Deregistering your digital mailbox
You can deregister or delete your digital mailbox at e-Boks at any time. However, e-Boks will remain subject to these terms for as long as you store personal data with e-Boks.
3. Digital services
e-Boks allows you to access different digital services of your own choice. The con-tent depends on who supplies and administers the digital service. The digital ser-vices you choose will either be supplied and administered by e-Boks or a third party.
e-Boks is entitled to pre-install services that do not have the character of com-mercial services, and that e-Boks finds to be of relevance to all users. You can opt out of such services at any time, see item 3.3.
3.1. Content of digital services
The content shown when accessing a digital service may be determined by a third party. When such third parties provide content to you through a digital service, e-Boks has no responsibility or liability for the content of the service.
3.2. Consent and verification
When choosing to access an add-on digital service provided and administered by a third party, you consent to e-Boks being entitled to disclose any data to the third party that are necessary for the third party to verify you. You will always be informed about the data that are being disclosed when you add a service. You can withdraw your consent at any time by opting out of the service. See below on how to opt out of a digital service.
3.3. Opting out of digital and pre-installed services
You may freely opt out of services provided by e-Boks. To do so, simply delete the service in question in your settings. When you opt out of a service, it does not mean that you no longer have a user account with the third party providing and administering the service, and that third party may still have data registered about you. To delete your user profile and/or data held by a third party, you therefore need to contact that third party directly. Deletion of data held by a third party is not e-Boks' responsibility.
3.4. e-Wallet
e-Wallet is a digital identity wallet. It enables you to safely store, manage, and pre-sent digital identity credentials on your own device. It also allows you to docu-ment and verify your identity to other digital services.
When using e-Wallet, you guarantee that you:
- only store lawfully issued identity credentials from trusted issuers.
- do not use the e-Wallet in any way that could compromise the confiden-tiality, availability, and/or integrity of e-Wallet.
- do not use e-Wallet for unlawful, fraudulent or unauthorised activities.
You acknowledge that:
- you are responsible for securing your e-Wallet.
- e-Boks cannot recreate your identity credentials if you lose access to your device.
- e-Wallet is provided “as is”.
- you use e-Wallet at your own risk.
e-Boks does not guarantee the validity of identity credentials issued by third par-ties. You acknowledge that any enquires, complaints, and/or claims regarding the identity credentials shall be directed to the organisation that issued the identity credentials.

4.1. Scope:
e-Boks gives you the option to access e-Boks Mobile via the e-Boks App (hereinafter "the App”). Not all e-Boks functions can be executed in the App. To use these functions, you must log-in to e-Boks in a browser. The App can be used to

You may not let, lease, lend, sub-license or sell the App. You may not attempt to de-rive the source code, modify, or create derivatives of the App. Any breach of these terms of use and/or violation of Danish copyright law will automati-cally terminate your right to use the App under these terms of use. In addi-tion to termination of your right to use the App, any breach of these terms of use and/or violation of Danish copyright law may lead to legal action being brought against you. e-Boks may withdraw or alter your right to use the App pursuant to these terms of use.
4.3. Unauthorised use
If you suspect that other parties have acquired knowledge of your pass-word or activation code, you must change them immediately. Password and activation code can be found in your e-Boks digital mailbox under Settings.

You can use biometric authorisation such as touch ID or face ID to log on to the App. For this to be possible, you must you accept that the device’s ability to use biometric authorisation will be linked to your user profile in the App. You can only link the registered biometric of the device to one user profile in the App. Other parties may make unauthorised use of the App if they have access to administering biometric authorisation on your device. You must therefore ensure that you have only activated your own biometrics as password. Only use biometric authorisation on devices to which only you have access and never on jailbroken devices. If you have taken over a device from someone else, first delete all saved biometric de-tails before activating your own. If you hand over your device to someone else, always delete your user profile in the App first.
4.5. Termination of biometric authorisation
You can terminate your use of biometric authorisation to log on to the App by:
- removing your user profile from the list of enabled users in the App,
- logging on to the App and disabling your selected biometric authorisa-tion under Settings, or
- deleting the App from the device.
4.6. Lost mobile device
If you lose your mobile device, you must generate a new activation code and/or access code for your e-Boks digital mailbox as soon as possible.
4.7. Blocking of mobile access
e-Boks reserves the right to block your mobile access for security reasons on suspicion of unauthorised use. If your mobile access is blocked, please contact e-Boks.
4.8 Reading Tools
e-Boks provides certain functions that use artificial intelligence (AI), includ-ing for summarising, simplifying, translating and similar purposes of pro-cessing of the content of digital messages (“Reading Tools”).
The Reading Tools are only provided as an assistance and AI-generated content may be incomplete or contain errors. e-Boks cannot guarantee that the AI-generated content is correct, complete or up to date and cannot be held liable for any actions taken by the user on the basis of such content.

If you choose to use e-Boks’ Reading Tools, you accept that e-Boks does not warrant or guarantee the accuracy or correctness of the content gener-ated by the Reading Tools. You therefore accept any risk associated with any inaccuracy of that content. You may not bring any claim against e-Boks arising from content generated by the Reading Tools. You are also obliged to indemnify e-Boks against any claims brought against e-Boks arising from your use of the Reading Tools.
